We were delighted to have a group of postgraduate theology students from Iasi, Romania visiting our Institute between 9-15 February through the Erasmus programme. Their brief has been to gain awareness of mission opportunities and initiatives in the UK, as well as to gain pastoral experience/insight into ministry outside Romania so as to develop their ecumenical and missional sensitivities.
As reflected in the pictures below, the Romanian students had a chance to visit the beautiful city of Cambridge, stopped by our Institute’s headquarters on Jesus Lane and had a conversation with IOCS Principal, Father Dragos Herescu and Dr Razvan Porumb (Vice-Principal); they visited Ridley Hall college and had conversations with its students, and they also visited Church at Castle, Cambridge where they were received by an old friend of IOCS, Revd Dr Janet Bunker. They met with the team of Chaplains at the University Hospital Addenbrooke’s in Cambridge, and they also took part in the Holy Liturgy officiated by Father Dragos in the Romanian Parish of Saint John the Evangelist and – last but not least – they had the essential missionary experience in an English pub! 🙂
What an encouraging thought to know we are enlarging our IOCS family internationally!
