The holy Orthodox faith is spreading throughout Latin America thanks to the efforts of hardworking priests and laymen.

Last week, the Romanian Orthodox Metropolia of the Americas reported that His Eminence Metropolitan Nicolae recently gave his blessing for the formal establishment of missions in Colombia, Ecuador, and Mexico.

The new missions are largely thanks to the efforts of Fr. Daniel Ene, who has made numerous pastoral visits to Latin America. OrthoChristian earlier reported on his visits to First ever Divine Liturgy in Romanian celebrated in ColombiaFather Daniel Ene, Diocesan Secretary and Dean of New York, New England and US East Coast, visited Colombia at the beginning of the month.

“>Colombia and Ecuador: First Orthodox community developing in capital cityThe community is the first canonical Orthodox parish in the city of Quito.”>Ecuador.

The Metropolia continues:

With the help of the Savior Jesus Christ who left His Apostles and His descendant bishops and priests the mission of teaching all nations, the Romanian Orthodox Metropolia of the Americas, which until recently had only two parishes in South America, namely in Caracas, Venezuela and in Buenos Aires, Argentina, will have three newly established Missions where the faithful, guided by the hierarch and their priests, will walk together on the path of salvation. By participating in the Divine Liturgy in order to share the joy of Christ’s presence in their midst, the love of God the Father and the communion of the Holy Spirit working in the Church through the Holy Mysteries, Orthodox Christians will have places of prayer and will be able to say the prayer of the sanctification of the temple as King Solomon did: Hear the prayer of Your servant and of Your people Israel when they pray in this place; hear from Your heavenly dwelling place, hear and have mercy (3 Kings 8:30).
