In a church of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the western Zarkapattia Province, drops of red myrrh appeared on an icon of the Theotokos and the Christ Child.

The miracle occurred in the Holy Spirit Church in the village of Luga when a group of schismatics and Uniates launched an unsuccessful attempt to violently seize the church, the rector Archpriest Vladimir Legach reported to the Union of Orthodox Journalists.

The priest said that red myrrh appeared on a fresco of the Mother of God, “The Inexhaustible Chalice,” painted on the wall of the church.

Parishioners first noticed the drops on September 2, during the attempted seizure. According to Fr. Vladimir, pilgrims from neighboring villages have already begun coming to the church to see the myrrh that has appeared on the faces of the Christ Child and the Theotokos.

Several dozen people, led by a schismatic OCU “priest,” attempted to break into the church on September 2, but the Orthodox believers stood in front of the doors praying and thus prevented the raiders from taking over the church.
